What are open Group courses?
- the content focuses primarily on improving speaking and listening skills;
- regular attendance of the lessons entitles the participant to a certificate;
- small groups of a maximum of eight participants guarantee ample personal attention to everyone.
These practice-oriented group courses focus on the improvement of your speaking and listening skills. You are involved in role-playing, dialogues and discussions in the group that increase your self-confidence, enlarge your vocabulary, and improve your insight into the grammar.
The courses focus on the dexterous use of the language in everyday situations rather than on an in-depth knowledge of the grammar. The courses are, for as far as is possible, conducted in the language being learnt. Self-evidently the yield from the course is partly dependent on your motivation, learning pace, and attendance. Homework and self-study increase the effectiveness of the course.
Expert trainers
The courses are provided by our professional language trainers, all of whom are native or near-native speakers, who help you develop an appropriate command of the language and enthusiastically introduce you to the culture of regions that speak the language.
Certificate
Regular attenance of the lessons entitles the participant to a certificate at the end of the course. This certificate specifies the scope of the course and the level of participation. If you so require the course can be completed with a test, when the result of the test will then also be stated on the certificate.
Flexible planning
In principle, the duration of group courses is 10 weeks, with one 2-hour evening lesson a week. Beginners follow 12 2-hour sessions. Other times can also be agreed if so required (also during the day).
Small groups: personal attention
The courses are given for small groups of between 4 and a maximum of 8 particpants of a comparable language level. The groups are formed on the basis of entry tests. Working in small groups guarantees sufficient personal attention to each participant. The relatively short duration of the courses is beneficial, since it will be easier to schedule the dates in your diary and avoid missing lessons.
